BPM LLP, one of the 50 largest public accounting and advisory firms in the country, announces the launch of an integrated, cross-functional and comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practice. Su Rim, a Certified Public Accountant and Senior Manager in the Firm’s Assurance practice, and Kristi Staley, Director of Business Development and Partnerships, will co-lead the group.

“With increasing pressure on companies to hold themselves to a high standard of corporate responsibility, ESG has become a crucial part of the modern business model,” said Rim. “The importance of these principles, and the mobilization of our own client-facing ESG team and the many resources these professionals bring to bear is an opportunity to help our clients realize and achieve their own ESG goals.”

“As the amount invested in ESG funds continues to grow exponentially and ESG becomes a board room priority, the need for standardized reporting and other specialized skillsets has exploded,” said Staley. “BPM, with our highly diversified skillsets spanning audit, finance, information technology, human resources and more, as well as our deep expertise in every major industry, is perfectly positioned to fill these pressing needs.”

With solutions spanning from ESG reporting and attestation, to governance documentation and people strategy, to IT security, privacy and sustainability solutions, BPM’s ESG practice is designed to help clients, ranging from middle-market and large-cap businesses to large nonprofit organizations, meet their ESG-related goals. Leveraging an inclusive team of talented professionals from the Firm’s Assurance and Advisory practices, the ESG group possesses in-depth knowledge where business, economic and social matters intersect and is committed to providing the highest level of client service.

“Our diverse perspectives and deep industry experience put BPM in an ideal position to support clients in all aspects of their business journeys,” added BPM Advisory Practice Leader Nick Steiner. “Our own Inclusion Now! efforts and ‘Because People Matter’ motto reflect BPM’s commitment to advancing ESG principles. Our clients appreciate the fact that we’re walking the walk on ESG and that our journey can help inform and guide theirs.”

BPM has tallied a remarkable 2021, headlined by the celebration of its 35th anniversary milestone. The launch of the Firm’s ESG group, in conjunction with its pivot to a hybrid work model, will help to position BPM to meet the realities of tomorrow’s business demands.
